So Friday night, I'm on my way downtown as usual to meet up with friends when I get a call from my brother at about 9pm. He tells me that his coworker is at True North in North Park right now and Michael Jordan is there! WTF?!? "Yea right" I said, "are you BS'ing me? because I don't wanna waste my time going over to North Park, especially since I had friends waiting for me downtown." Now mind you, Michael Jordan has been one of my idols ever since I was a little child. My bro said, "I dunno if he's telling me the truth, that's just what he said. But imma go there after work since it's by my pad anyways and check it out." So I told him to hit me up if it were true, and I'll race over there if it is. So at about 11:45pm I get a call from my bro saying that it is really MJ and that he's at True North right now playing pool! Now by 11:30pm, I have had quite a few drinks, so I was like SHIT, I needa get to North Park. So I ditch my friends at Onyx and make a B line right to True North. I get there at about 12:15am-ish, head over to the pool tables, but no MJ. He had just left. DAMNIT! When am I ever going to get the chance to meet him, and in my own backyard practically! The lesson learned: Be a little more trustworthy.
Luckily my girl Tin was there with a camera and she was able to show evidence that it really was Michael Freakin Jordan. They said they had the pool table area roped off, so you couldn't actually go up to him. BTW, this mofo is DARK as night! haha
Afterwards, we were all to drunk to drive home, so we went over to my bro's pad in North Park to watch Twilight, which I was not paying any attention to, and sober up.

Sunday FUNday pt. VI: CoroMudHut
Normally on FUNday's we pick one thing to do, but this past FUNday we actually did several things. We went to the San Diego Mud Run, ate at Panera Bread and did a little shopping at Best Buy and Otay Ranch Mall, went to Ferry Landing at Coronado, and ended with dinner at Crab Huuuuutttt for Joe and Terry's birthdays.
First stop was the SD Mud Run in Rancho San Diego. We went to go support our MA buddies who formed Team Saritas (which in my opinion has disgusting Mexican food). It seemed like fun running through the mud. But I don't think I wanna do the 3 mile run, especially since it's mostly uphill. I'll just jump around in the mud.
Time to get hosed down... it was like a my dream job in real life. Well, just the hosing down women part, I can do without the guys.
After the run, we picked up Judy, then went to Otay Ranch Mall to eat at Panera Bread. Yum-o. Here is my Dijon Chicken panini, french onion soup, and iced green tea. Delicious.
We did a little shopping and I bought a bigger camera bag and a new camera strap. (Strap-on! haha, you had to be there). Then it was off to Ferry Landing in Coronado. We rented one of those 4 person bikes thinking it would be fun. It was for like the first 5 or 10 minutes, but then it got hard. haha, that shit was a work out!
From Coronado, we went straight to Crab Hut for dinner with the peeps for Joe and Terry's birthdays. Crab HUUUUTTTT!
Jenn didn't think we were serious about wearing the bibs. "What kinda douche actually wears the bib?" haha
How did TK know it was short but stubby? haha, it has GERTH ok! TK drew his own too, it was longer, but lacked in gerth.
After dinner, we hit up Yogurt World for dessert. I was too stuffed to partake but enjoyed everyone's company.
Good times....Happy Birthday again to Terry and Joe!

Sunday FUNday pt. V
We started the fifth installment of our Sunday FUNday adventures pretty late. It started off cloudy and rainy so we were trying to figure out an activity to do indoors. But alas, the weather cleared up, and at about 4pm we headed out to Shakespeare's Pub in Mission Hills because Judy was craving fish n' chips. This Sunday's crew consisted of myself, Gerald, Klev, Judy, and Christine.
This time it was Gerald's turn to drive. Gerald drives a Range Rover HSE Sport with all the trimmings. Super dope car. It's like a freaking jet. Someday I hope to be able to afford one of these bad boys.
At Shakespeare's Pub, everyone ordered fish n' chips, but I was feeling adventurous so I wanted to try something different. Shakespeare's is a British pub, so they had a lot of traditional British dishes. I opted for the Bangers and Mash. Why? Because that's what my buddy Flo, aka DJ Unkle Junie, calls Saturday nights at Bar 923. haha. Pretty tasty stuff. Especially paired with my Black Velvet (Guiness and Champagne)
After our late lunch/early dinner we went next door to Gelato Vero. This place has the BEST gelato. Super creamy. I had the spumoni gelato. Yums
Working in a retail environment for the past 8 years, I'd have to agree with the sticker in the middle. The customer ISN'T always right!!!
The pool area was located on the 4th floor, when we went out to that area, I noticed a prohibited roof area that seemed very easy to access. So I hoped up thinking that when I got to the edge there would be a magnificent photo op of the surrounding downtown area.

Freestylin'
Super dope freestyles by Common, Erykah Badu, and Kanye West at the South by Southwest (SXSW) music festival in Austin Texas. I always hear about this music festival, and I really wanna check it out someday. One day, hopefully.

Soulstice 3 @ U-31
Satruday, March 21st, Mindz Alike hosted the 3rd installment of Mark Marcelo's brain child, Soulstice @ U-31. This time it featured an all Mindz Alike lineup. The lineup consisted of Oli-Baba, myself (edROC), Julz, and Mark Marcelo. It was an amazing night. All 4 DJ's had amazing sets that kept the crowd rocking. Jamie, our amazing door girl, along with Judy and Cha said there was a line of paying partygoers all the way up to 1am!!! It was definitely a good look for Mindz Alike. Thank you everyone for coming out. I hope you all had as much of a good time as I did.
Me and my twin Babe. Kinda of. Twins by association, meaning Ray Ban spectacles, boots (w/ the fur), and sexiness.
The only picture of me DJ'ing. I tried to change up the vibe with my FPJ's (Fist Pumpin' Jams)! I got a lot of positive feedback from my set, so I will be recording it and having it available as a free download. Stay posted, i'll post it up on my blog soon.
Julz rockin' the crowd with his super hyphy break.
Heini-Julz, edROC (my head pressed up on Julz looks pretty homo), Big Gee, and I forget the girls name. Sorry =/
BFF (no homo)
edROC x Jen with the matching spectacles.
I spy Big Gee Blood
Henny brings out the gangsta in you.
Gee's signature pose
Vince was wondering what they were looking at, but I think they were just bigging up the Quest Crew. I dunno what I was doing.
Klev x Me X Julz
CHUG or SIP?
Guess who?
Christine x Matt
Left to Right: Gian's hand, Gerald, Akrite, Matt, Klev, Julz, me, Mark (5&A Dime)
Cheers Guilly
DJ Mark Marcelo lacing the crowd with some super sexy jams
The perfect lineup. I'm so proud of all of us.
Now do something funny!
On behalf of Mindz Alike, I'd like to thank each and everyone that came out to party with us. Your support is very much appreciated. Keep your eyes peeled for Soulstice 4 in the near future.
