Groupies

Friday was another crackin' night at Victory Nightlife's Exclusive @ Onyx/Thin.  It started off much slower than usual, but as the night progressed the crowd multiplied.  Thank you everyone for coming out.  But all you late comers missed out on the FREE sushi and sake!  I was being lazy that night, so I didn't bring my camera.  So all these pics are courtesy of TK and Jomo.

The DJ booth is about 3ft x 3ft, and this guy had 4 groupies grindin' on him in that tiny ass space!  I'm so envious.

Good times, hope to see you all May 1st for the next installment of Exclusive!

Pau Hana @ HOB

Wednesday the BFF, Matt, invited me to go watch Pau Hana (an Islander/Reggae band) at the House of Blues. Matt's cousin is one of the back-up singers in the group, and she did a dope cover of Estelle's "Come Over" track. It was a super dope chill vibe that night. Check out more music from Pau Hana on their MySpace.

Camera's weren't allowed in, so I had to take some crappy flix with my iPhone.

Afterwards we hit up Hong Kong in Hillcrest. It was my first time going here for a fourth meal, and I was honestly not that impressed. I guess you'd have to go with a lot of people and share because the dishes were kinda expensive. I just grabbed some egg drop soup and vegetable rolls.

Egg Huntin' in Julian's Pants

It's been a while since Mindz Alike threw one of our lil' BBQ shindigs. Since the weather WAS getting nicer, we decided to throw one on Easter Sunday. Sure lots of peeps have family things to do such as church and what not on Easter, but the majority of us didn't. Plus, if you didn't know because I didn't, everything is closed on Easter Sunday. WTF?!? Anywho, we got together at the usual Otay Ranch park, had some outdoor activities, watched all one thousand dogs (not really, it was more like 4) mess with eachoter, and just enjoyed eachothers company.

Cindy whipped up these delicious cake eggs on a stick. So moist.

It was a windy day, so Cha brought her vintage kite from 1985 that her dad brought home from Korea. We tried to fly it as high as we can.

I haven't really shot much action stuff, so I was pretty excited to set my camera to shoot multiple frames.

BAM!!! Joe (Avnt Grde/Alpha#) rung his bell with a softball to the head. Don't worry, he's ok, but it was a good enough hit to send Jay home =(

As the day was winding down, we caught these kids playing some weird ass shit. I couldn't get him in the picture too, but there was a Caucasian kid and this African kid playing what seemed to be a semi racial game. We don't know what the heck they were doing, but the white kid had a stick!!! haha. We named the game for them....LAPD.

Uptown Baby

Saturday (4/11/09), Earthbound Radio wanted 5&A Dime DJ's for Uptown Saturday's, which they host at Modus Bar in Banker's Hill. So they picked up Julz and myself since Unkle Junie (Flo) has his residency at 923 on Saturdays. It was a real good night with a real good turnout. There was a couple birthday's (including Mindz Alike's own Oli-baba) and a party bus dropped off a butt-load of people. The Earthbound guys said it was their best night yet. I hope they have us back again soon.

We started the night off with a quick appetizer over at Bennigan's. Mmmm, french onion soup!

We got to Modus with enough time for me to grab a drink, say hi to some peeps, then get right to work.

The only downside to Modus is that the bartenders are slow. Two bartenders for a packed house was not cutting it. They need to step up their game.

See more flicks here.
