This past Sunday FUNday was Mother's Day. My mama was out of town cruising Barcelona (LUCKY!) so I didn't have a mama to take out. So a few other peeps (Klev, Gian, Christine, & Jen) that didn't have plans for Mama's Day rolled with me to Coronado to catch the Red Bull Air Races. Klev, Gian, and myself brought our bikes anticipating that there wouldn't be any parking close to Ferry Landing. So we dropped off the girls, found parking a few blocks away, and rode our bikes over. I had a chance to catch the races last year, and this year was pretty much the same. If you haven't gotten a chance to see it, check it out. It's pretty dope.
What a lovely day in good ol' SD.
I'm the only one with a chain, so we had to get creative to ensure the safety of all 3 of our bikes.
Lunch time. Tomato basil pizza. YUM
Pretty big slices, bout the size of my head...and I have a pretty big head.
We arrived at the races a lil late, so we missed out on most of it. Klev, Gian, and I wanted to cruise around the Island, so I gave the girls my car so they can bounce. They also had my camera, so they decided to do a lil' photo shoot with themselves.
So I thought we were just gonna cruise around Coronado Island for a few miles. But when we ended up over by Hotel Del Coronado, Gian suggested that we ride down the Strand. I thought he was kidding. I said, "Hell no! You crazy?!? Do you know how long it is?" To which Gian replied, "Don't be a pussy!" I didn't wanna be a pussy, so we did it!
Here's a video of us just beginning our journey down the Silver Strand. Why the fcuk does my hair look all crazy!?! haha
This was about half way down the Strand. Roughly 7 1/2 miles.
We finally made it down to Palm Avenue (roughly 13 miles I think) stopped at a liquor store and grabbed some Gatorade, then proceeded back. I wanted to call Judy to pick me up, but she had already left southside and was downtown @ Bumsville
Half way finished with our ride, and about to trek back 13 miles to coronado. "Klev do a bunny hop" ....sorry the sound is kinda wack because it was hella windy.
We found a dead squirrel in the bike path that Gian began bunny hoping over. That little kid in the picture ruined my shot, but it was kinda funny because he was totally running over the squirrel. I thought guts were gonna explode everywhere! Gian got some air on this one!
Take 2....this time no kid in the background.
Big Geezy's gots hops! I don't know why it's so funny, I guess you had to be there.
On the way back we came across these stacked rocks....anybody remember when some dude used to do this at Seaport Village?
After 26 miles of biking on a BMX, my ass was hurting. I was literally "BUTT HURT"! haha. We rewarded ourselves with a semi-healthy meal at Soup Plantation. I like lots of eggs and cheese on my salad.
I'm the 5th wheel once again with Gian, Josie, Klev, and Judy =(
I got a chance to see legendary hip-hop producer Pete Rock at El Dorado last Thursday. Ikah Love has been getting some big name peeps to come through on Thursday nights when he hosts Grown Folk Shit. Pre-sale tickets sold out quick for Pete Rock, so we got there mother-truckin' early to get our hand stamped and guarantee entrance. It was packed like sardines, and hot! But it was well worth it. Pete was Rockin the crowd with dope ass hip-hop. Granted he's not the most flamboyant or extravagant DJ when it comes to his skills, but come on, who cares...it's mother fuckin' PETE ROCK!
I didn't bring my camera, so I had to settle with crappy iPhone pix
My employees at work are so nice to me. For my graduation they threw me a lil' potluck. It's nice to feel loved. I must be doing something right if my employees go out of their way to do nice things for me.
Here is mini-me. He invited everyone to partake in my Grad Potluck at work. He also scared and creeped out a whole bunch of people. haha.
They even decorated! This was before the food got there, just in case you were thinking that table looked kinda bare. haha. Thanks guys, I love you all. NOW GET TO WORK!
I don't have much free time to begin with, but if it's possible, I now have even less. Why? Because I got myself a new Baby Girl, my Yorkie puppy Isabella (Bella for short). I had a Yorkie a while back, long story short, I no longer have her. So I always told myself that I would pick up another puppy once I graduate college and free up a lil' more time for myself. Little did I know that I would pick one up the NEXT DAY. Yup, the following day after graduation, I came across the EXACT puppy I wanted. I think it was fate. She was also the EXACT amount that I had saved for the lens I wanted to get for my Nikon. So I had to decide whether to get a lens or a puppy. I think it's pretty obvious what I chose given the title of this post.
By the way, if you were wondering why I haven't been keeping up with my blog and why I keep posting blogs that are two weeks old. This is why. Raising a puppy is like raising a kid. Potential puppy owners beware! haha
This was the day that I bought her at California Pets... The 1st picture of Bella and her new daddy.
Welcome home.
Knocked out after a long day of paper work. Who knew buying a pup would require so much paper work?!?
Knocked out in her castle of a bed.
Bella meeting her babysitters for the first time, Christine & Jen (Judy not pictured).
After her 1st trip to the vet. They gave her a lil' bandana. Bella's such a hypebeast.
They said the shots would make her groggy. She also weighed in at 1 pound 15 ounces! So tiny!
Meeting Auntie Cha
Bella's 1st toy (which she has already tore the hell up).
She likes to sleep in crazy awkward positions.
So that's what that sad, kawawa puppy face looks like. What a baby.
This is Bella two weeks after I had gotten her. She's already grown so much!
Last Friday I decided to have friends over, just because. No special event, no birthday, nothing of great significance other than wanting to spend time with good people. Not as many people came as I thought were gonna come (FLAKERS! haha jk, I still love you all), but regardless we always manage to have a good time.
Klev stopped by Mitsuwa and picked up 3 bottles of Nigori....Cold unfiltered sake, yummy!
We had a limited number of cups, which means: WRITE YOUR NAMES ON 'EM & REUSE!
Big Willie Style busted out the old school gear. I wish I still had my Nautica & Hilfiger gear.
Pretending like he was at Audiotistic.
My baby Bella
Lil' puppy = Chick Magnet. Fellas take note.
Hanna! 3/4 sleeve for a 1st tatt is pretty tough. Compliments of Body Marks
Aprille x Fels
Babe and her goggles
Cha, are you high?
Bella and her babysitters
J-Time (Mindz Alike) and his new do. If you know Josh, you'll know he had hair down to his a$$. I can't believe he cut it off, but he did do a good thing and donated it.
One-handed picture skills with an iPhone.
I guess my desktop computer has become the "Nipple Photo booth". I always end up with a nipple on my desktop. Thanks ColCol
