After Marites & Dexter's wedding, Christine and I headed over to Cher's pad to celebrate her birthday as well as catch Dolly Vita's debut performance. Dolly Vita is an all girl band that consists of Cher on bass, Caren on drums, and Trisha on guitar. The performance was awesome and consisted of some cover songs as well as original Dolly Vita songs.
Bazooka Joe and I provided some tunes before and in between Dolly Vita's sets.
Here's the birthday girl, Cher, jammin on the bass and her sister Caren layin down the beats on the drums. Massive amounts of beer and liquor is a must for backyard boogies. Surprisingly the cops never showed up that night and we partied till 2 AM. I guess Cher has some really cool neighbors.
Weddings with hosted bars are the best! The bartender specialized in making Long Island's, but she made hers a little different. She tops it off with Chamboard, which made it sweet, and hella potent.
Don't get me wrong, I love break dancing, I respect and admire their athleticism, and I think Super Crew is super dope at breaking....but as far as America's Best Dance Crew is concerned, I feel Fanny Pak got robbed. Fanny Pak was creative, innovative, and on point with their choreography. Super Crew jumped around and did flips n shit. They originally thought Fanny Pak was some sort of gimmick, but I think Super Crew's breakdancing is a gimmick, and they use it to hide the fact that they really can't dance. I hope So Real Cru wins now, and Shane and JC need to stop jacking each other off under the table and pay attention to the dancing. Props to Fanny Pak.
Anyways, I started class again tonight. It sucks because I've already finished my core management program, but I still need to fulfill some extra credits to receive my bachelors degree by taking stupid elective classes. It is so unnecessary, and I feel that colleges and universities make students take classes that have nothing to do with their major just to get more money out of them. Greedy bastards. I really don't think understanding a nutrition related disease is going to help me manage businesses better.
My personal fav. "Alien" ?!?! Come on Lil Mama, you are a FUCKING idiot and your hats aren't cool. Fire your stylist.
Normally on my days off I really don't do much. Typically the most I would do is go to the gym and take a whole bunch of naps. But I've been trying harder lately to be more productive. Today I met with a debutante, Regina, and her mom to discuss their music needs for Regina's debut in September, which obviously i'm DJ'ing. After that I hit the gym to work out my chesticles with Matt. Then I went to Ralph's to pick up some Lean Cuisines for lunch (they're on sale 5/$10), took a 7 mile bike ride around the hood, re-arranged my room slightly, and cooked some korean bbq. Now how's that for being productive.
Earlier today I was watching The 25th Hour. In the movie there's this awesome scene with Edward Norton where he rants on and on where, in a nutshell, he says FUCK YOU.
"No one is born hating another person because of the color of his skin, or his background, or his religion. People must learn to hate, and if they can learn to hate, they can be taught to love, for love comes more naturally to the human heart than its opposite."
Yesterday was quite productive for a Sunday. Normally I do diddly squat on Sundays when it's not football season (thank God it's finally that time of year), but I got some cleaning done in my room, then me and Christine were either gonna hit the beach or go to the movies. Neither of us wanted to drive all the way out to La Jolla, so we settled for Step Brothers at the Otay AMC. This movie is HILARIOUS! If you think lines like:
"Your voice is like a combination of Fergie and Jesus"
or
"It feels like a lightning bolt just struck the tip of my penis"
or
"What if I shave a nice V starting at my chest puebs and down to my ball fro"
then you have to watch this movie. There's sooo many funny, random lines.
Sunday I also did a little shopping and grabbed a couple accessories for my toys. I picked up a headlight, taillight, and computer for my bike and also a circular polarizer filter for my camera. Then after a quick 30 minute nap we headed over to BJ's for Veronica's berfday party. mmmm, the BJ's favorite pizza. The edROC x Christang pie is a little better, although if we can make it a deep dish like the BJ's favorite we'd probably put BJ's out of business. Ha, probably not.
